And finally.

Mordechai left the palace and he is now dedicating himself to making the Jews safer and happier. I'm so proud of him. I'm still here with Xerxes, and we're as happy as can be.

Thank you so much for sticking with me through this follower. This will be my last blogpost.

The chefs made these to celebrate, I'll think they'll be part of the tradition.

Peace to you all and Happy Purim!!

Love from,

Esther

Oh wow.

Mordechai has become very influential around the country, so people are starting to fear him, and the Jews. The Jews have taken to killing and plundering, they killed 500 men, they even killed the ten sons of Haman! This was all in one area, though.

The rest of the Jews are only defending and trying to keep peace, or so I've heard. They have one day, the fourteenth day of Adar, where they stop defending and rest. They celebrate on this day and give food to neighbouring families. We sent out a decree to declare this day an official holiday. Because Haman pulled out a 'pur', a lottery to kill us, and we turned against 'him', we are planning on naming the holiday Purim! We will celebrate it every fourteenth and fifteenth day of Adar, and all jews will from now on. :)

I've marked my calendar!

I feel like this is my reward, and what a fantastic one it is!

Peace be with you,

Esther

WE won!!!

The Jews overcame the army, and they are now free to practice their religion. Everything, circumcision, tefillin, the torah! Everything's so wonderful!

This whole thing has been such an adventure, and Mordechai said I should be very proud of myself. But I'm just so happy to see everyone safe and sound, and that everyone got what was rightly deserved.

The Newspaper front page that day!!!

Thank you for staying with me through all of this, follower.

Lots of love,

Esther

Not over yet...

Xerxes gave me Haman's house, and I gave it to Mordechai. He truly deserved it.

I pleaded with Xerxes to write up a new decree to stop the killing of my people, and he gave me his ring, and told me to do so. Morchai and I wrote the decree and sent it out to each province that allowed the Jews to fight for themselves. Let's see how everything goes.

I got a bit excited. Needless to say, this was the first draft.

YESSSS!!!!!

When the King and Haman arrived, i had everything set. When Xerxes asked me what i wanted, I said to  him very clearly, that I wanted my people to be saved, and that someone in the palace was trying to eradicate them.

Xerxes was so mad, and he screamed at me to say who it was who would do such a thing. I said Haman. Xerxes had him arrested then and there, and he'll be hanged on the gallows he built (I heard he built them for Mordechai!) later tonight. We did it!! Oh, I'm so overjoyed, I can't describe!! I can finally relax.

EXTERMINATED.
Joy be with you all,

Esther

Nyawww, Mordechai

Mordechai has finally been honoured for his good deeds! Xerxes learnt about what he had done when he had heard Bigsan and Seresh's plan to poison him, and so Mordechai was dressed in the king's clothes and allowed to ride the king's horse throughout the city! And Haman had to walk next to him and say "This is what happens to the man the King honours!' How wonderful! Stupid Haman, ha, finally having to give in.

What I've done to my portrait of Haman.
I guess good does conquer all, even when it is something small.

Lots of love everyone,

Esther

Okay. New Plan.

So, I went to the King's court, expecting to be killed. But instead he was so sweet! He asked me what i had come for, telling me he'd give me anything, even half the kingdom :P

I thought quickly, and told him to come to a banquet I would hold for him and Haman, then I would tell him what i wanted. He seemed fine with that.
The three of us at dinner together, Haman's looking as miserable as ever.

That night, I hadn't thought everything through yet. So i just told both of them to come back the night after, and then I would tell him what I wanted. I looked outside my window and saw Haman leaving, and Mordechai did not bow to him again. I wish he wasn't so stubborn sometimes.

The next morning I saw Haman's servants building gallows, I'm worried that he's onto me :(

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. I'm trying my best to be as brave as I can, there's so much at stake right now.

Pray for me,

Esther

My Plan.

I sent a message to Mordechai:

Mordechai said back:

He really doesn't have any faith in me :'(

But I said to him:

As far as I know he's done what I've said, let's just hope everything goes well.

Stay safe,

Esther

Haman

I just learnt the most awful news. One of my servants told me Mordechai was wailing outside the King's gate, so I sent one of my servants, Hasach, to go see what was wrong. Mordechai told me that all of the Jews in Shushan have been sentenced to death.

I briefly mentioned Haman before. Xerxes had promoted Haman to the highest power a minister can get, and everyone needs to bow down to him now.  But Mordechai didn't bow to him once, and Haman got really mad. Some of the other king's guards told Haman that Mordechai was Jewish, and Haman was livid. And basically, he's planning on killing all the Jews!! Xerxes agreed to it because Haman promised him an allotment of money in the palace treasury if he let things proceed.  Xerxes gave Haman his ring, so that he could print the seal on all of the documents sent out to each province that ordered the killing of all the Jews. :'( I don't know what to do, these are my friends! Stupid Mordechai!!!! I just have to keep quiet about who I am, or I'll be dead too.

This has turned into an awful series of unfortunate events, how did Vashti keep up with this?

Would you trust this man with your government?
Stay safe,

Esther x

They tried to kill my hubby :'(

I'm so happy that Mordechai has been waiting at the gate! He heard two of the knight's guards, Bigsan and Seresh, planning to murder the King!!

He told me as soon as he heard, I was so scared, I ran to tell the other guards immediately. I told them what Mordechai heard, about how they were planning to poison Xerxes. The guards looked into the matter, and the two culprits have both been hanged on the gallows! I'm so happy, that was so terrifying, that someone wants to kill my husband :( The incident was recorded in the book of records, but Mordechai hasn't been rewarded or anything.

Things are really getting interesting, followers.

Lots of love,

Esther

And the winner is...

King Xerxes chose me! I don't know what to think! I'm now Queen Esther of Shushan! Wow, this is just so insane....

He doesn't smile much. I guess being King is stressful.

This is such a mixture of emotions. I'm happy, excited, but I'm also scared. What if someone finds out I'm Jewish? Then what?

The wedding was pretty short, I was given this beautiful crown, and there was this large feast afterwards, that Xerxes called 'Esther's Feast' after me :P I met all of the King's ministers, they were so nice to me, and they're really smart. I don't really like this one called Haman, he seems like a creeper. To celebrate, Xerxes announced a tax reduction, I'm sure Mordechai will be happy about that.

Mordechai is so excited as well, I finally have the upper hand he always wanted for me. He's still waiting by the gate.

Lots of love to everyone,

Queen Esther

Name change!

So, I've been here for over a week, getting ready in the harem with all of the other girls. They're making me look pretty, and training me to become a queen. Then King Xerxes chooses between all of us who he likes most. We're going to be here ten months. We are also allowed to take whatever we want from the King's palace with us in the harem. The woman in charge of us is called Hegei, she's so nice :) She likes me a lot, and she told me to not take anything, because it would make the King happy.

And probably the main news:

THEY CHANGED MY NAME!!!

So basically, Hegei said Hadassah was too poor a name for a queen, so it's been changed to Esther!!!!

I quite like the name to be honest. It's nice and short :)

I'll tell you in the next post whether the king chooses me or not. I've been working so hard here to be perfect for him, I really hope he does choose me. Mordechai's been waiting outside the gates this whole time, he's so loyal, I love him so much.

Lots of love,

Hadassah

OMG!!!111

So, in Persia we have this king called Xerxes. And he got really mad at his wife, Queen Vashti (she is soooo prettyyy. She was named woman of the year by Exile Magazine) because she wouldn't take her veil off at his dinner party so that he could show her off. At least, that's what everyone's saying. He's introduced this law now, like, out of rage, that all women must respond to their husbands as their leader. :/

She's so pretty!!!

I don't really know what to think of that, but another rumour going around is that now King Xerxes is looking for a new queen! He says he wants the prettiest virgin in Persia as his new wife, Mordechai wants me to go. I sort of want to go too :P

I don't know, I am a virgin, and people on formspring tell me I'm pretty all the time. I guess I could give it a shot, it would be nice to be queen :)

But the thing is (and don't tell anyone, blog follower) I'm sort of Jewish. I know, shocker, right?

I don't know if I should go because of that, because Persia doesn't really like the Jews. Heck, no-one likes the Jews. Mordechai told me I'm not allowed to tell ANYONE I'm Jewish, which is really risky. But I want to be queen so baadddd... I'm totally going to give it a shot. Just keep my secret, blog follower.

Lots of Love,

Hadassah

HI

Hi :D

Welcome to my blog, my name's Hadassah. I think for my first post I'll tell you a bit about me. I live in Shushan in Persia. I'm 14 years old. My mum and dad died when I was really young, so I live with my cousin Mordechai. I love him to pieces.

Me and Mordechai on holiday in Egypt

I also love to draw, but I'm not very good. :P

So yeah, this blog will probably just be the rantings of a silly little teenage girl, but maybe it'll become something. :) I hope you'll like it and keep following me!

Love from,
Hadassah
